I was just wondering, using the custom skin and everything, does that rob you of CPU at all and jack up your memory usage? I really like the set up and I'd love to try it! Thanks for any help, also I joined Deviant art just to ask this :)

A custom theme (the skin, icons, start orb, etc.) on your OS doesnt really affect your CPU or memory usage unless you have Windows Aero enabled. The only thing that can really affect your computers performance are the background applications. For example, my current desktop/background apps include Xwindows (which does take up quite a bit of memory) and CD art display (doesnt really affect performance). It all depends on what programs you are using and how many you are running at the same time. Hope this helps!! :D

Thank you so much. I dont know how much of a hassel this would be and if it is please don't bother I'll figure it out. But how do you install skins and stuff like that? I'm computer savy just not with this custom stuff. Also can I completely reset it to the way it is now if I don't like it?

Thank you for your help!

The only thing you need to do before you download any custom themes is to go to google and search for "uxtheme patcher". Click on the first link (Softpedia) and see if your OS is compatible. If it is, download the small program and open it up after you have installed it. When you open it,keep clicking "ok" until you see a window with three rows each with a "patch" button to the right. Just click on each "patch" button individually and your done!! Now you can just download any custom skin you want and add it to your "themes" folder (C:\Windows\Resources\Themes). If you want to go back to the default theme, just right click on your desktop, click on "personalize", and double click the default theme. Thats it!! I know these instructions are kinda confusing so I recommend you go search "uxtheme patcher" on Youtube. There are tons of vids pertaining to this so go check them out! :)

Hope this helps!!
